Meeting Minutes March 7, 2022
Attendees: Lisa Lubarsky, Nancy Wagner-Wetzel, Tony LaRocca, Tommy Hart, Patricia Mulligan, Jules Moore, Paul LaRocca.
Treasurer Report was given by Nancy and is on file.
Membership Dues Tony will send out an email stating if dues not paid by next meeting names will be removed from roster. Military service and students are exempt but will need to let us know if they still want to be a member.
RUMC will be giving out awards to the SI Running clubs on April 9 at the Arnold Obey run at Clove Lakes
Brooklyn Half Marathon Tommy Hart will be getting a bus for the race. Cost will be $20 or $25. Bus will leave from Victory Blvd./ Ontario Ave (near basketball courts at Clove Lakes)
After Party Brooklyn Half: Details are still be finalized and hope to have it by April meeting. we are looking at having it at Randal Manor Tavern on Castleton Ave early afternoon.
Will give out year end 2021 club awards and Richie Chin Kind Award at the event
Scholarship: Only 3 applications were received as of March 1st dead line. We agreed to extend the dead line to 3/15. Trish will reach out again to the coaches. It was agreed that next year we will attempt to connect the schools directly by attending their practice and distribute the applications.
Trish will arrange a date for the committee to meet. if anyone would like to join the selection committee, please contact Patricia Mulligan.
JCC/Rockets the Richmond Rockets will be partnering with the JCC of Staten Island as part of a fitness and wellness initiative. Special membership discounts to all rockets. We will be working on a joint race in the near future as well as coaching and fun runs.
Use Running Shoes Josh Pesin is collecting used running shoes. He receives money for them and then distributes that money to various clubs and charities including the Rockets. If you have running shoes, you are no longer using, contact Lisa Lubarsky to arrange drop off.
Runner of the Month: Kenny Downing for his winning performance in the Valentine Day’s 5k at the Conference House in 16:01

NYRR Staten Island Half-Marathon Registration is now open for the October 9th running
Race Log The 2022 race log will be set up on the website soon. Please send in your race results. I will be looking at the NYRR races and other area races that have sortable results by clubs.
