Here are the minutes from our October Meeting…..

-Nancy gave our Treasure Report.

-Trish went over the assignments for our upcomingHalloween Costume Run/Walk occurring onSunday Oct 29, 2017. Anyone interested in helping out that day should arrive by 7:45AM at the Ocean Breeze Complex. Please do your best to get the word out and promote this fundraiser for our Scholarship Fund. Can’t volunteer, please consider running…it would be great to have a large participation of Rockets, especially since this is a RICHMOND ROCKET RACE. Please get involved. This is your club and we need everyone to run or volunteer. (application attached...please download, print out, pass out, email to others...help us promote Our Race.)

11/5/17 - TCS NYC Marathon!

For our Young Runners: (geared to runners ages 2 to 18) Saturday Oct 8th. NYRR is hosting a Rising New York Road Runners day at Clove Lake Park.

A series of different distances, some competitive, some non-competitive, free fitness games, and cross country runs in the park. But you must register and this event is near capacity. So visit the NYRR website and get your children involved in the great sport of running.

Weekly Races:

Every Saturday 9AM - SIAC 3 mile fun run - Clove Lake Park

Every Sunday 9AM- NYRR-Conference House 3 mile run

Every Tuesday 7PM – NYRR – Silver Lake Park 3 Mile Run

-Happy Birthday to Trish Mulligan who will be celebrating her birthday in the month of October. Happy Birthday Trish!

-Update on Tommy Hart. His Heart procedure went well. They replaced his old stent with a new one, and added a second stent. He should be good as new in a few weeks. Go Tommy!

-Runner of the month for September: Tony LaRocca. He completed two half marathons in Sept…The Indian Summer half in Brooklyn with a time of 2:15 and then the Newport Liberty Half in NJ at2:12:40. And if that wasn’t, enough Tony completed the Conference House Endurance Race on Staten Island. (Marathon distance) Way to go Tony!

-Good luck to everyone running the TCS NYC Marathon on Nov 5th ... Come to the November meeting and share your experience with us.

-I would like to personally thank everyone that contributed to my Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Team, "The Dollface Diva's". Your support over the last five years has been inspiring and so appreciated. I will be walking on Sunday Oct 15th if anyone is interested. Thank you.

Next Meeting: Manor House November 6, at 7:15pm.

Remember…important meeting…nominations for officers for 2018 and ballot to see if we should change our meeting location.
