NYC Marathon news: Couldn’t get into the 2017 NYC Marathon – Well it might not be too late! The New York Road Runners is offering each club 3 guaranteed non -complimentary entries to the 2017 NYC Marathon. Deadline for applications is August 24th. Entries must include runners name and email address that is associated with their NYRR accounts.

Selected entries will receive an invitation code from NYRR one week after their name has been submitted. Runners will then have until Friday Sept 15th to claim their invitation and complete their registration. In the case of multiple entries, priority will go to paid members that are active members, which means they are attending meetings, volunteering at Races, and participating in local races etc.

Also, we were emailed the 2017 TCS New York City Marathon qualification time standards from NYRR Local Competitive Program. This program is open only to local runners who are already entered to run the 2017- TCS New York City Marathon.

To be accepted into this program a runner must have achieved a qualifying time in his or her age group in a half-marathon or marathon since January 1st, 2016. Space is limited to the first 400 qualified applicants accepted. If you qualify you are granted an elite starting time at this year’s marathon. Please reach out to me if you want to see a list of the qualifying times.

Lisa Lubarsky(hinrglady@aol.com) spoke to us about the NYRR looking for volunteers for the 2017 NYC Marathon. Please look out for an email from Lisa with a direct link in how to apply as a volunteer.
