Next Meeting : July 10th @Manor House 7:15PM (Since the first Monday is on July 3rd, and this is a holiday weekend, we are going to check the availability for the Manor House for July 10th.) We had only 14 people in attendance at our June meeting and would love to see more people attend our meetings, and become more involved with our club. We are trying to look into a weekend trip to another State that offers a run for everyone. Perhaps a 5K , along with a ½ marathon and/or full marathon. If anyone has any suggestions, please send us info and we can look into accommodations and present it to our club.
Today is Global Running Day! Join fellow runners and NYRR at Clove Lake Park from 6AM to 6PM or join them in a 3 mile fun run at Silver Lake Park at 7PM. Share here or on facebook when you plan on running today !

The Richmond Rockets
Rest In Peace to Our Beloved Richmond Rockets Member: Richard "Richie"Chin
~ 1958 - 2020~
We are still celebrating life...the life of our dear friend and Richmond Rockets team member who recently passed away, Richard Chin. He always wanted to see others happy. Rest In Peace Dear Richie! A message from him via his family shown at his funeral service: " ~LOVE YOUR LIFE: Thank You for making me Rich, as friends and family are priceless. Be happy, smile and laugh, enjoy the journey, and keep on running!~ "
Richard W. Chin, 61, of Rosebank Staten Island, passed away on April 23 2020. A beloved husband, father, brother, family to many, and friend to many - was born in Hong Kong, China in 1958, and moved to Staten Island in 1971. He worked as a Postal supervisor and school safety agent who loved the children at PS 4. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service for over 30 years before retiring as a supervisor. After less than two years of retirement, he joined the NYPD as a school safety agent and most recently was assigned to providing security and ensuring the safety of students, faculty and visitors of PS 4 in Arden Heights.
Richard was so kind-hearted and always had a smile on his face, and much laughter! At our Richmond Rockets meetings he was so friendly and always joking with the guys, and at our holiday parties he hit the dance floor running with the best moves - always so happy and energized. He had such life and amazing joy about him. He was an amazing sprint runner at a young age, and one of the fastest as a teenager - winning many running championships. He was an avid runner and bowler, enjoyed dancing, puzzles, games of chance and more importantly, he loved his children at PS 4.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine and children, Justin and Cyndi, as well as surviving siblings Tony, Amy, Gloria and Allen.
A wake was held at Hanley Funeral Home in New Dorp on Friday, May 1 between 2 and 4 p.m. with a memorial service to be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, Richard's family is accepting contributions towards a memorial plaque at: gofundme.com/f/richard-w-chin-memorial-plaque. Any donation would be greatly appreciated! Our condolences to his family. We are so sad to see our dear friend and family member pass away, and will remember the best memories with him as we celebrate his life.

At her time at the hospital, she expressed her gratitude and thanks to Dr. Rotatori and staff to with a dance and cheer. Dr. Roratori and his team also inspired Edwina to begin her medical studies in pursuit to become a hero and work in a hospital.
